This is an A-Medium grade syrup providing an incredible pronounced maple flavor with beautiful natural amber color. The taste and nutrition of this syrup simply leaves no comparison to store bought chemically enhanced imitations. How is Maple Syrup made: Maple Syrup is the product of a great deal of work and pride. Syrup begins as sap in a maple tree which is harvested during a very short window of opportunity in the spring when temperatures rise to a perfect temperature that begins the flow of sap. A spile is inserted into the tree and the sap drips out if conditions are right. The sap either drips into a bucket or flows down a special tube to a holding tank. Drop after drop collect until there are gallons upon gallons of sap. The sap is then boiled for hours and hours to evaporate water and the sugar becomes more concentrated to become syrup. It can take as many as 50 gallons of sap to make one gallon of syrup. The syrup is then filtered, put in bottles and sealed until the end user re-opens it for that delicious stack of pancakes.
